The Ryzen 7 and Ryzen 9 CPU’s have plenty of cores that can handle demanding 4k video editing with lots of effects.

Best

The Ryzen Threadripper line of CPUs are monsters for video editing and can even be used for intense VFX at even higher resolutions such as 6k and 8k!

Up to 35 teraflops of power, there are GPU’s for all types of video editors.


Good

Nvidia’s 1650 is a great start for working with 1080p video files with even some effects!

Better

Mid-range GPU’s such as the RTX 2060 and 1660ti are perfect for 4k video editing with loads of effects! The 6Gb of VRAM is perfect for handling all sorts of video files.


Best

Top-tier GPU’s including Nvidia’s 3070 and above are killer GPU’s for editing and VFX. The 8GB+ of VRAM make them perfect for even 8k formats with heavy effects!

RAM

For budget editors, 16Gb of RAM is the minimum needed for a smooth experience. For people with slightly higher budgets, I recommend going with 32Gb of RAM. For high end computers, 64Gb or more depending on your use case is perfect!
